A-lot of people call us after trying to use someone off of Fiverr to build their website.
Actually, around 40% of the calls we get start with the caller venting their frustrations, and offering a rendition of their recent bad experiences on the website. Well, it happened again last week, and this time it served as the proverbial “straw that broke the camel’s back”.
So, out of curiosity, we tried to use a few freelancers off of Fiverr on some very simple website projects.
We wanted to find out why so many people weren’t able to use Fiverr to find someone who could build a basic website.

After wrestling for two weeks with a few freelancers, we quickly understood the real issue here.
In Summary:
Freelancers on Fiver, even the ones with dozens of great “reviews” operate like a horse without a jockey.
Though many of them possess the technical skills and talent needed to create a website, they are severely lacking in the area of communication. This, along with the language barrier, means that you, as their client, will need to fill in this skill gap.
Literally, to have a successful project, you will have to break down everything you want on your website in detail, and also in a way that is understandable to a web developer.
That is an actual skill that takes time to develop. In fact, people get paid for it, and it even has a name. It is called “IT project management”.
Chances are that you, as a small business owner, do not possess this skill. This is the real reason why most people can't use someone off of Fiverr to build their website.

If you happen to be a small business owner in Jamaica, and you have already tried the “Fiverr route” without success, there is still hope!
